Drilling Fluids Testing Equipment
Drilling fluids testing is as important as the fluid system itself. By testing the make up water, new drilling fluid and the returning drilling fluid, we can determine many factors that may affect the operation. These include:
Abnormally low or high pH values
Contamination that may affect mud mixing
Cleaning system efficiency
Hole caving and resulting solids loading that may affect drilling and pullback rates (potential for frac-out)
Abnormal viscosity from drilled clay cuttings and hole swelling
Testing Equipment
Mud testing equipment, cups, funnels, scales, sand content kits, filter press, rheometer, Cl- and hardness titrating reagents, pH meters (or paper), solids retorts, etc., are usually available overnight.
